Pee in Swimming Pool Hazards: Chemical Reaction Triggers Destructive Lung

Beijing, some people consider accidentally peed in the pool will not be a problem as long as not too much. Yet the levels are not much compared to an abundant water. But scientists assure pee in the pool can be dangerous!
Scientists from China Agricultural University and Purdue University revealed in the latest study, the compounds in the urine can lead to a dangerous chemical reactions when meeting with chlorine. Typically, chlorine is used as penjerih pool.
"If the swimmers avoid pee in the pool, water and air quality will increase," the scientists wrote in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, as quoted from Dailymail, Tuesday (11/03/2014).
In a series of experiments in the laboratory, the scientists mixed samples of pool water in China with a particular compound is also found in the urine. The compound in question is uric acid, which make up 24-68 percent of cyanogen chloride in the pool.
Laboratory analysis showed that uric acid chlorination greatly contributed to the formation of cyanogen chloride in the pool. The compound result of chemical reactions bsia affect vital organs such as the lungs, heart, and central nervous system through breathing.
"Given the presence of uric acid in the pool associated with deliberate pee by the swimmers, these findings emphasize the important benefits that can be obtained by increasing the net as part of a custom kenbiasaan swimmers," added the researcher.
Previously, exposure trichloramine in the pool is also associated with decreased lung function in adult swimmers. Another complaint was also triggered by the compound in the pool are itchy eyes, runny nose, and the sound is lost in the pool guard. The findings were published in Environmental Health News.
